Product identification

Composition

• Peracetic acid 4% w/w
• Hydrogen peroxide 21% w/w
• Acetic acid 10% w/w

Applications

• Dialyzer reprocessing
• Disinfection of hemodialysis equipment and accessories
• Disinfection of dialysis machine fluid pathways between treatments
• Heat-sensitive equipment where a cold process is required

Dilution, contact time and rinsing

Dilution ratio and contact time are specified in the manufacturer’s approved product information and in the instructions for use for the machine or dialyzer being processed. Do not substitute a general figure for either.

After rinsing, confirm that residual disinfectant has been removed using residual peroxide test strips, and record the result according to facility protocol. Infinity Pharma supplies Serim GUARDIAN residual peroxide test strips for this purpose.

Handling and storage

• Store the concentrate in a cool, dry place away from incompatible materials
• Protect from direct sunlight and temperature extremes
• Strong oxidiser — handle with the personal protective equipment and ventilation specified in the manufacturer’s safety data sheet
• Avoid contact with reducing agents and incompatible materials
• Facilities should have written procedures for accidental exposure and spills
