What it measures
The strip gives a semi-quantitative indication of the peroxide remaining in dialysate lines, dialyzers and water distribution systems after rinsing.
- A green or blue colour on the indicator pad indicates peroxide at or above 1 ppm.
- A result of 3 ppm or above indicates that further rinsing is required.
Read the colour against the chart supplied with the product, and follow the interpretation thresholds in the manufacturer’s package insert rather than any figure quoted here.
Compatible disinfectants
Used after disinfection with peracetic acid and peroxide-based disinfectants, including Renalin, Actril, Minncare, Puristeril 340, Peracidin, PerAldecide and Micro-X.
Use and limitations
- Test immediately after the rinse cycle
- Results are semi-quantitative; colour interpretation can vary between operators
- Not suitable for precise analytical measurement
- Record results according to the facility’s quality assurance protocol
- Interpretation should be carried out by trained personnel
Storage and handling
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the container tightly sealed when not in use and protect from moisture and temperature extremes. Observe the expiry date and rotate stock.
